Foley's Restaurant has been led by chef proprietor Carol Hartnett since 1967 and head chef Sean Ashe since 1986. The food at Foley's can best be described as a fusion of fine French & Irish cuisine incorporating the best of local ingredients. Carol trained to become a chef during the 1980s at the famous Moulin de Mougins in Provence France under the chef proprietor Roger Verge. Carol introduced some of the most popular dishes still on the menu in Foley's today upon her return from France. Sean completed his chef training at Rockwell Catering College and spent the early years of his career working as a chef in Switzerland.
Good cooking starts with good produce, and we are spoiled in Ireland with the richness of local producers to choose from. Many of our producers have been supplying us for over 30 years like our fish producer in Castletownbere and our meat producer in Tipperary.
Foley's has a wine list with over 300 wines on offer from our in house wine cellar – one of the largest wine lists on offer in any restaurant in Ireland. Our wine list includes wines represented from California to Italy to Australia and everywhere in between, we have a wine offering to suit all tastes.
Our dining room epitomises the style of the original townhouse and creates the perfect surroundings and ambiance to match a memorable dining experience. When it comes to service, our front-of-house team, endeavor to create a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere in which you feel free to enjoy yourself whilst savouring your food and wine to the fullest. Our team are always happy to talk you through the dishes, answer any questions and offer advice on wines to match.
Foley's Restaurant is open daily for dinner from 5pm to 10pm. Special dietary requirements are catered for, and we offer vegetarian options. We can accommodate groups to dine with us in the main dining room or in our private dining room and we can create menus especially to celebrate an occasion.
